Bold Landscape Minis Oil Pastel Workshop

Learn the basics of working with oil pastels as you create a set of mini oil pastel drawings on fine art papers. Oils pastels are a rich and luscious medium, perfect for exploring bold color, varied textures, and painterly effects - without using water or paint. In this workshop, we will dive into the basics of color composition, blending and mixing, and expressive mark making unique oil pastels. You’ll also learn about different paper options and fixatives. Using landscape photographs as our inspiration, we’ll experiment with both realistic and abstract compositions.

No prior art experience is necessary.

Skills include: drawing, color mixing,  blending, and mark making with oil pastels, layout design, and color composition.
