The Drawing Workshop : Bold Landscape Minis in Oil Pastel

Learn how to use the accessible and versatile medium of oil pastels as you create a set of mini landscape artworks. Oils pastels are a rich and luscious medium, perfect for exploring bold color, varied textures, and painterly effects - without using water or paint. In this workshop, we will dive into the basics of simplification and composition, color design, blending and mixing, and expressive mark making unique to oil pastels. You’ll also learn about paper options and display approaches. Using landscape photographs as our inspiration, we’ll experiment with both realistic and abstract compositions.

No prior art experience is necessary.

Skills include: drawing, color mixing,  and blending with oil pastels, layout design, and color composition.
