New Year Nestle

Now that's a word! Nestle... but I think it captures the January mood for me. After the hustle of the holidays, two weeks of hosting guests, and this month so far working from home while my daughter is home from school with Covid (mild but taking its full 10-14 day hit), nestling in, pondering plans for the coming quarter, getting back to regular routines and a dry-ish month post revelry, yeah, nestle is my word.

I hope this year brings good things. As the calendar resets, I look ahead to new artworks and new events, but it's also the dead of winter... It feels like a great time to sketch inside, with a cup of hot tea, while also planting early seeds for spring workshops and summer fairs. A reminder to myself, and to you, to be kind to yourself.

Now let us welcome the new year, full of things that have never been seen. – Rainer Maria Rilke
