Obscured: Oregon Coast Fogscape

Obscured: Oregon Coast Fogscape

The rugged NW coast has many moods, from brilliant sun to softly obscuring fog and drizzle. The Coastal series explores the ever-changing light, color, and forms of the NW coasts. Based on plein air watercolor sketches and site photography, this piece captures a foggy "sunset", where I watched the soft grays descend and the cliffs, trees, and water slowly dissapear into mist. It was truly magical.
